Summary:
Kathy and her friends are excited for their summer camp trip to Solisbell Island. Besides the usual fun activities, they will study the native plants, from the winged elm to the slash pine. Upon arrival and meeting their animal friends, the children learn that the Alligator King has been taken to a wildlife refuge and that his army of gators have fled their castle to underground caves. They might be guarding deposits of mysterious treasures of unknown origin. Studying the island’s history of pirates, the children are determined to go on their very own treasure hunt!
